Today 201 yrs ago Canadian hymnwriter Joseph Scriven was born. The night before his wedding, his bride-to-be accidentally drowned, leaving him devastated. Still he chose running to God rather than away, and authored the beautiful hymn of comfort "What a Friend We Have in Jesus".
